Moacir Marafon has been honored by Fiesc for his contribution to industrial development
ACATE’s Vice President of Talent, Moacir Marafon, was awarded the Order of Industrial Merit at a ceremony organized by the Federation of Industries of the State of Santa Catarina (Fiesc)
and the National Confederation of Industry (CNI)
this Friday (19) in Florianópolis.
Marafon was recognized for his significant contribution to the industrial development of the state and Brazil, and for being a leading figure in Santa Catarina’s innovation ecosystem. Born in Linha Pinhal Preto, on the outskirts of Xavantina in western Santa Catarina, he stands out for his career: “From an entrepreneur on a subsistence farm, where labor relied on human and animal power, to an entrepreneur in technology and innovation, creating solutions that benefit millions of Brazilians.”
Entrepreneur Moacir Marafon is a co-founder and member of the Board of Directors of the Softplan
Group, which ranks among the top five Brazilian corporate software companies and employs more than 3,300 people; he is also one of the driving forces behind MED-401
. Since 2010, he has served as Vice President of Talent at ACATE, a role in which he currently focuses his efforts on talent development
. “One of my goals is to train people. Today, artificial intelligence is important; however, the people who know how to make technology and AI their allies will be the ones who build the future,” says Marafon.
During the ceremony, Moacir Marafon was also recognized in speeches by industry leaders. Fiesc President Gilberto Seleme highlighted Marafon’s entrepreneurial spirit: “Building on solid values, he has created remarkable companies that improve the lives of thousands of people. We are proud to have him on our podium.” For his part, former Fiesc president Mario Cezar de Aguiar highlighted his dedication to strengthening the technology ecosystem.
Also honored with Santa Catarina’s highest industry distinction were business leaders Mario Cezar de Aguiar (Vectra Participações e Construções), Diomício Vidal (Modal Indústria do Vestuário), Ildo Antônio Simon (Rotoplast Indústria de Climatizadores Evaporativos), and Rafael Mirando Silva (Cia. Canoinhas de Papel).
Created in 2000, this award is presented annually by Fiesc to up to five individuals or organizations that have contributed to the sector’s development.
