OUR HISTORY
The Florianópolis Innovation Network, a partnership between the Florianópolis City Government (PMF) and the Santa Catarina Technology Association (ACATE), is a pioneering initiative in Brazil. Five innovation centers have been accredited to the Network with the goal of fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, activating the local ecosystem, and generating and scaling innovative businesses in the city.
The innovation habitats that make up Florianópolis’s Municipal Network of Innovation Centers fulfill essential functions established under municipal and state innovation policies. These include training in ST&I (Science, Technology, and Innovation), organizing technology events and hackathons, increasing access to investors, and attracting new businesses to the city. The 5 accredited centers also work in synergy with the 15 innovation centers currently being implemented by the State of Santa Catarina across different municipalities.
