The city of Florianópolis is considered one of the best cities in the country to start a business, standing out for its high concentration of players linked to science, technology, and innovation. This innovative ecosystem has a high level of human capital, related to the presence of various excellent Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and innovation habitats that it draws on, such as two of Brazil’s top science, technology, and innovation parks, the two leading and best Brazilian incubators, pre-incubators, maker spaces and accelerators, as well as various government players. It is also the city with the highest density of startups in the country and the second-highest density of technology entrepreneurs in Brazil.

In this context, the Florianópolis Innovation Network was created to support the articulation and development of the city’s ecosystem. With the goal of strengthening connections between the innovation centers of the Municipal Network of Florianópolis and the other players in this ecosystem, a mapping of Florianópolis’s innovation ecosystem was developed, aiming to identify all of its players. On the map, these players are linked to each innovation center according to their geographic location, making it possible to view them near each center.
