Florianópolis in the National Innovation Award: City’s Ecosystem, Companies, and Researchers Are Finalists
The National Innovation Award has announced the finalist companies, researchers, and ecosystems for its ninth edition. Among the contenders across different categories are: two technology businesses from Florianópolis, two researchers, as well as the state capital itself, which is aiming to win the award for the second consecutive time in the “Large-Scale Ecosystems” category.
In the previous edition of the award (2022-2023), Florianópolis won the prize in recognition of the long-term coordinated effort among various players and initiatives that helped establish the ecosystem as a national and international benchmark.
Aquarela Analytics has also previously won the National Innovation Award, in the 2021-2022 edition, among small businesses in the “Product Innovation” category. This year, the Florianópolis-based company, a participant in the Business Verticals, a graduate of MIDITEC, and a resident of CIA Primavera, is competing as a medium-sized business in the “AI for Productivity” category.
NanoScoping is competing for the award among small businesses in two categories this year: “Renewable Resources” and “Researchers,” represented by Co-Owner Maria Beatriz da Rocha Veleirinho. The Florianópolis-based company, a graduate of incubator Celta, won the 2022-2023 award in the categories “Product Innovation,” “OSH Highlight – Occupational Safety and Health,” and “Innovative Researchers” — the latter awarded to Letícia Mazzarino, Partner and Technical Director of the company.
Researcher, Founder, and President of Nanovetores, Betina Zanetti Ramos, represents the ACATE-affiliated medium-sized company from Florianópolis in the “Researchers” category. The business has previously won the National Innovation Award in the “Sustainability Innovation” category, in the 2021-2022 edition.
The award is an initiative organized by CNI (National Confederation of Industry) and Sebrae (Brazilian Service for Supporting Micro and Small Businesses), in partnership with Sesi (Industry Social Service), Senai (National Industrial Training Service), and IEL (Euvaldo Lodi Institute).
